Amendments to be made in Crime, Sentence Execution Codes and Code of Procedure

EU working group for examining and improving legislation examined these codes in the frame of the project conforming of Azerbaijan penitentiary system for European standards, APA reports.

European experts suggested making amendments in the above mentioned codes.

The proposal on Sentence Execution Code covers increase of prisons' rights, their transference, detention conditions, right for corresponding and detention place staff status.

The experts approve the establishment of trial period institution in Azerbaijan. Humbatov said this kind of institutions operates in most European countries.

The working group offers to include alternative sentences to depravation of freedom sentence in Criminal Code.
