Worker died, another injured at building consruction site

A tragic accident in the apartment building under construction by 'Astoria' building company in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, killed one worker and seriously injured another.

Baku Main Police Department told the APA the accident occurred in the area where construction works were held by 'Astoriya' company owned by Akif Sadigov. There was disorder in the crane when crane-operator Baybala Gahramanov was lifting fittings. The fitting fell down killing 21-year-old worker Elshan Jabrayilov and heavily injuring 17-year-old worker Nijat Hasanov.

Yasamal district prosecutor's office launched a criminal case on the fact. The investigation is under way.
