The meeting brought together ambassadors of Turkey, Jordan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, Yemen Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iraq , Senegal, Ivory Cost, Albania, Morocco, Algeria and Lebanon as well as diplomats from Azerbaijan, Iran, Libya and the League of Arab States.
The pope attached importance to interreligious dialogue. He said it will help appease the tension. Benedict XVI re-expressed his deep respect for Muslim world, APA reports.
"Joint efforts of Christians and Muslims for defense of human dignity is of vital importance," the Pope said.
