Haji Mammadov: "I contributed most of the money for charity"

In today's proceeding Haji Mammadov answered questions asked by Jahangir Nasirov, defense-lawyer for Sidek Abdulvahabov, APA reports. Haji said he knew Abdulvahabov by means of Sirkhan Albiyev. Asnwerign the question whether where they spend all the money, Haji said most of the money was spent on poor peoples.

"I gave $40 000 to Nizami Abdullayev firs time. I have spent $850 000 gained from 'Sigorta Mamed' to orphanages. There were documents on charitable events in Garabulag. These documents contain all the charitable deeds we did. Gusar region population took benefit of these charitable acts most of all. Over hundred jobs were opened for them. I do not aim to justify myself by mentioning these," the defendant said.

Mammadov also made clear the reason why he killed department chief of Offer to Fight Crimes Azer Ismayilov.

"I killed him because he was collecting information about me through my deceased brother with whom he had close relationships. He aimed to kill me. I'll talk about this," he said.

The court proceeding will continue on 29 August.
