Karvan began the game with a flurry of attacks, but unfortunately senior coach Yunis Huseynov's strikers failed to hit the target.
Suleyman Camarra could have scored two times in the first half when he found himself one-on-one with Slavia's goalkeeper, but he missed his chances.
With their first attack on goal, the guests took the lead in the 14th minute.
Karvan could not avoid a similar scenario after the break, too, as there was nothing the Azeri club’s forwards could do about Slavia's defense.
The Czech club’s last minute goal pushed Karvan deeper in trouble, as they now have to regain a two-goal gap in the return match in Prague, August 24.
Karvan progressed to the second round after defeating Slovakian Spartak Trnava 2-0 on aggregate.
