Sakit Zahidov's health deteriorated

Lawyer for the journalist Vugar Hasayev told the APA that Zahidov had a strong chest pain yesterday and became short of breath. The lawyer applied to the prison administration with regard to the situation, and the journalist was checked up in the prison hospital. However, Zahidov was returned to his prison cell after the check up.
"The prison cell, in which Zahidov is detained, is overcrowded, hot and stuffy," the lawyer said.

The journalist's wife, Rena Zahidova said for the past 19 years Zahidov has been suffering from heart disease, and this causes him bouts of shortness of breath. Most recently, he was hospitalized five years ago, and to this day he occasionally receives outpatient treatment for heart problems.

Investigator of the Nasimi district police Haji Afandiyev told the committee to defend Sakit Zahidov's rights that he was not informed anything about the journalist's health.
