100th jubilee of "Molla Nasraddin" magazine marked in Ganja

APA reports that the event took place at the initiative of Ganja culture and tourism office, Azerbaijan Writers' Union (AWU) branch in Ganjabasar and the central library.

Head of the AWU branch in Ganjabasar Mammad Alim talked about the historical background of the "Molla Nasraddin" magazine.

"The magazine was first published in Tbilisi in 1906. Its 370 issues were published in this city, 8 issues in Tabriz and 398 issues in Baku. The "Molla Nasraddin" was read not only in Azerbaijan but also in many European countries and several others," Mr.Alim said.

Other participants of the event talked about the publication of the magazine as well as founder of the magazine, writers Jalil Mammadguluzadeh and Mirza Alakbar Sabir.
