Conference on establishing national associations of local authorities

Addressing the conference, Mehdi Salimzadeh, Justice Ministry Center for Local Authorities said that in accordance with the formats of the associations, the problems of the local authorities will be investigated and solved. Head of Kapaz municipal authorities, head of Coordination Council of Authorities Tahir Guliyev told that the issue of establishing associations of local authorities in the regions was raised before. It was advisable to establish these associations in the format of city, district and village.

The President's Office local authorities sector head Ramig Hashimov stressed the Council of Europe makes the Azerbaijani government establish a united local authority association. He said the association will promote the work of municipal authorities and provide an opportunity for their making joint proposals.

As APA informs, at the end of the conference, Tahir Guliyev (Kapaz local authority) was elected head Working Group of National Association of City Local Authorities, Ilham Khalilov (Bilajari) National Association of District Local Authorities and Faig Mahmudov (Aghdash) of Village Local Authorities. The structures of the associations will be formed by September.
