Summer tourism season starts today

According to APA, the term of the season will depend on the climate condition of the regions.

Before starting summer season, the ministry together with local executive powers held preparation and instructing works in tourism regions.

It should be noted that 1million 177 thousand 277 foreign country citizen has arrived in the country last year, 865 thousand 255 of them have arrived in Azerbaijan as a tourist. In 2004, 1 mln. 300 thousand people arrived in Azerbaijan 800 thousand of them as tourists.

Azerbaijan gained $US 77,7 profit from tourism field last year. According to approximate calculations, one tourist spends 750-900 dollars within his week stay in Azerbaijan. Generally, there are 263 tourism establishments in Azerbaijan.
