House of Human Rights office to open in Azerbaijan

Ombudsman of the Azerbaijan Republic Elmira Suleymanova met with the representative of the Norwegian House of Human Rights (NHHR) Ms. Ane Tooswik Bonde.

According to AzerTAg, Ms. Bonde informed on activity of the institute, the basic directions of work.

The guest has told about regional organizations of NHHR in Moscow, Warsaw, Sarajevo and other cities, has expressed a wish concerning creation in Azerbaijan of its office, consolidation of local NGOs on human rights, coordination of their activity. Ms. Bonde has noted, that with this purpose the organization represented by her is in search of financial opportunities and donor organizations.

E. Suleymanova has noted significant intensification of work of NHHR office on maintenance of human rights, which in the future will open in the country. She also informed, that this offer has found reflection in its first annual report.

Ombudsman of Azerbaijan has expressed her gratitude to Bonde and the organizations for support in creation of NHHR office in the country. She emphasized confidence for efficiency of the further cooperation.
