Reporters Without Borders makes report on World Press Freedom Day

Reporters Without Borders issued its report on occasion of 10-May-World Press Freedom Day.

The organization investigated Mass Media, freedom of expression in 167 countries and collected the results in the report. Denmark was considered to be the freest country for press. The followings are Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Holland, Norway and Switzerland.

Azerbaijan is in 141st place among 167 countries. Azerbaijan is ahead of Belarus (152), Uzbekistan (155) and Turkmenistan (165) among CIS countries. Northern Korea is in the last place in the list (167). Freedom of expression has deteriorated in Georgia and Armenia. Georgia went down from 83 to 99 and Armenia from 94 to 102.

Freedom of expression has been improving in Turkey (from 113 to 98), Ukraine (from 138 to 112) and Russia (from 140 to 138), APA reports.
