National holiday of Israel marked in Baku

Ambassador of Israel Artur Lenk spoke of the independence his country gained 58 years ago. The State of Israel has passed a long path of development and became an authoritative state in region, he emphasized.

The diplomat dwelt on the political, economic and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Israel, expressing pleasure with the conditions created for the Jewish community in the Republic.

Vice-speaker of Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Ziyafet Askarov on behalf of Azerbaijani President congratulated the people of Israel on the landmark day, conveyed greetings of the Head of the Azerbaijani state.

The Jewish community makes certain contributions to development of the country, Ziyafet Asakarov noted.

Members of Parliament, ministers, ambassadors of foreign countries accredited in Baku, representatives of international organizations and other officials attended the receptions, AzerTAg reports.
