President Aliyev meets with US Jewish organizations

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met on April 26 at his residence in Washington with representatives of US Jewish organizations.

The President said he was very glad to see again the representatives of Jewish organizations and let them know that his visit is going very well, and he had very important meetings here. He noted he had met with many of them in Baku. "We have good relationship. You haven always supported Azerbaijan, and I am grateful to you for that," he said.

President Ilham Aliyev pointed out that people coexist peacefully in Azerbaijan, and there is a high degree of tolerance in the country. "I am sure that Azerbaijan can serve as an example of a country in which people live as a family, and Jewish community of Azerbaijan is playing an important role in development of the country," he said.

Speaking on behalf of the visitors, president of the Jewish organizations for former Soviet republics Mark Levin highly appreciated President Ilham Aliyev's visit to the United States describing it as very important. "We took part in the 2nd congress of the World Azerbaijanis in Baku, and came back full of impressions. We were shown great hospitality there," he said.

According to AzerTAg, a number of other issues of mutual interest were discussed in the course of the conversation.
