484 mass media registered in Azerbaijan last year

Press Council told APA that 396 of the registered MM are newspapers, 88 are journals and publications. 8 MM appealed to the Ministry of Justice to quit the registration.

348 of the chiefs of MM are men, 62 women and 74 are organizations. Expansion of geography in the list attracts the attention. The list includes 27 cities and regions besides the capital. 15 newspapers in Ganja, 8 in Sumgait, 5 in Nakhchivan, 5 in Mingechevir, 4 in Absheron, 3 in Imishli, 2 in Saatli, 2 in Shamkir, 2 in Bilasuvar, 2 in Jalilabad and 1 in each of 17 other regions. It is said that 466 MM are in Azerbaijani, 14 in Russian, 4 in English, 49 are daily, 232 are weekly, 145 are monthly, 33 come out twice a month, 21 MM come out 4 times a year, 2 come out 7 times a year, 1 comes out twice a year.
