Press council conducted monitoring in western regions of Azerbaijan

Employees of the Press Council have conducted press condition monitoring in Azerbaijan's western regions, Ragim Guseynzadeh, secretary Executive of the Press Council, stated.

According to Trend, he said that representatives of the Council had visited Ganja, Samukh, Khanlar, Dashkesan and Gedabek areas in order to familiarize with the situation, economic conditions and problems experienced by local press.

Mr Guseynzadeh said the monitoring conducted in aforesaid regions would result in regional conference to be passed in this region as the necessity has arisen in to disclose all material gathered in the course of the monitoring on problems and condition of local press, as well as recommendations and suggestions on fighting the "racket".

Mr Guseynzadeh added he was going to conduct a broader study on local press in Ganja. This study might result in disclosure of names in governmental agencies suspected of racketing.
