Journalists attended Training-Education Center of Defense Ministry

Group of journalists on the initiative of "Friends of Army" Press club have visited Training-Education Center (TEC) of Defense Ministry.

As APA reports, the journalists got acquainted here with preparation level of officers, condition, and conduction of lessons. In the briefing held before the training, club Head Emin Hassanli has stated that journalists' regular visits would be organized. The objective of organizing the visit is to expand cooperation between Armed Forces and community.

Deputy Chief on education issues of TEC colonel Rahim Samadov gave information to journalists about the activity of the center. He said that TEC had been founded 1997, practically established in 2001. TEC prepares officers as well as ensigns: "At present the center has officer preparation course, ensign preparation course, officer development course, as well as Individual Partnership Activity Plan (IPAP) National Center operates here. In officer development courses officers graduating from Higher Military School get trainings, they are trained here for 48 weeks. So far about 1800 officers have been trained through 4 courses. 12 weeks recourse officer preparation course have trained more than 1000 officers. At present about 500 officers continue their education in the center."

According to Mr. Samadov, the center has organized 33 working meetings in 2003, 26 in 2004, 35 and in 2006 during the past period, the center has organized 8 meetings with foreign countries' militaries and international organizations participation.
