Agajan Abiyev: "IOC reacted positively to changes in boxing judging"

12 April 2006 [14:05] - TODAY.AZ
Executives of the International Olympic Committee have positively estimated the changes made in the world’s boxing judging practice.

Agadjan Abiyev, Deputy Chairman of Judges Committee of Amateur International Box Association (AIBA), told that in this respect IOC President Jacques Rogeit has sent a letter to his AIBA colleague Anvar Chaudri.

"It is a pleasure to read of the innovations at the World Championship of 2005 in China. Use of open score system seems to become a success. We hope this system is becoming a standard in the future, as it should be upgraded and tested for Olympic Games in Beijing. IOC is also pleased that AIBA is planning to develop a computerized system for selection of chief and side judges, which is free of human intervention", - the message says.

Mr. Abiyev also said a complete AIBA's report would be submitted to IOC by late November 2008, Trend reports.
