11 March 2006 [13:57] - TODAY.AZ
"There are some shortcomings in the food industry of Azerbaijan," Ramiz Hasanov, the head of the Standardization, Metrology and Patents Agency, said to the journalists on Friday.

According to Hassanov, the Agency holds check-up at the enterprises, producing cooked meats, drinks, water, as well as industry objects, Trend informs.

"We did not issue any certificate of conformance from September 2006," Hasanov underlined. Besides, the Agency liquidated certificates of 150 companies, where the specialists conducted check-up.

In accordance with the legislation, the enterprises are given a chance to improve production and they receive certificate of conformance in case of revealing of improvement during recheck-up.

"The Agency controls the enterprises producing cooked meat from poultry and test the samples at local laboratories, provided with modern equipment," he concluded.
