Russia's Year in Azerbaijan to be opened at the Heydar Aliyev Palace

The solemn party will be held at the Heydar Aliyev palace on Tuesday on opening of the Russia's Year in Azerbaijan.

Several musical collectives will arrive in Baku from Russia to participate in the concert, the Culture and Tourism Ministry told Trend.

The M.Pyatnitsky Russian State Academic Popular Chorus, Denis Matsuyev, the winner of the international competition after Chaykovsky, ensemble "Terem-Quartet" from S.Petersburg, jazz band led by Sergey Jilin, and Nikolay Baskov will perform at the concert. The concert presenters will be Russian Sergey Shustsky and Marina Devyatova.

In the framework of the Russia's Year in Azerbaijan the sides also stage a festival on the 100th anniversary of the prominent Russian composer Dmitriy Shostakovich. The festival is organized under the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry.
