Nazim Ibragimov: "About 800 participants will be invited for Second Congress of World Azerbaijanis"

For the Second Congress of the World Azerbaijanis scheduled for 16 March 2006 about 800 participants will be invited, the chairman of the State Committee for work with Azerbaijanis living abroad, Nazim Ibragimov said in a statement today during the news conference.

He noted Azerbaijani representatives from 44 countries will be invited to the Congress. Most of the participants will come from the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Georgia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, France and the USA. Apart from this, persons who contributed much to the development of the Azerbaijani Diaspora, political figures, representatives from parliaments and governments from over 40 countries will be invited to the Congress, Trend reports.

Ibragimov noted also, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will make a keynote speech at the Congress to be held at Heydar Aliyev Palace. On the results of discussions the Congress will adopt Resolution, Appeal to the World Azerbaijanis and other documents. According to Ibragimov, the Congress will be held on the state budget funds.

All expenses of the Congress participants will be paid by the Government of Azerbaijan.

The head of the State Committee noted also, the event will be completed on 16 March and on the following day tours of the Congress participants will be organized to various regions of Azerbaijan, for them to get familiar with the situation on spots.
