6 policemen injured, 7 local residents detained in the operation in Nardaran

According to resident of Nardaran Amirkhan Jabbarovhim, 9 local residents in two cars drove to visit the tomb of Ramiz Hasanov who was killed in the skirmish with the police at 8.00a.m today, APA informed.

They were attacked by about 25 masked policemen when they were entering the village cemetery. According to them, the policemen shot to air and arrested 8 residents later on: "I escaped from the masked policemen."

Stating that, residents of Nardaran Zulfu Hasanov, Faig Zakiyev, Famil Hasanov, Ismayil Murselov, Azer and Yashar whose surnames are not known, have been detained, A.Javadov underlined that, local resident Fakhraddin, who wasn't in Nardaran when the incident happened and one more person who came with him, were also detained.

The Interior Ministry and Prosecutor-General issued a statement on the conducted operation. According to the information given to APA by the press service of the IM, investigation is carried out related to the murder of two policemen - Ilgar Agayev and Rovshan Rahimov in Nardaran on 25 January.

The members of the criminal gang involved in the incident are searched. Local residents Ramiz Hasanov (killed by the policemen on 25 January), Hasan Azimov, Ilgar Guliyev turned out to have illegally carried pistols marked "Nagan", "Makarov" and "TT" and a machine-gun.

Notice has been issued on residents Zulfu Hasanov, Faig Zakiyev, Famil Abbasov and others. Special body of the IM conducted an operation to detain the above-mentioned persons today. The above-mentioned persons, alongside Islmayil Mursalov, Yashar Jabrayilov, Fikret Salmanov, Seyidazer Mehdiyev resisted the police in the scene. They threw a hand-grenade to the policemen. The explosion killed 6 policemen and some of the resisters. However, Z.Hasanov and the aforementioned 6 persons were detained.
