Shahriyar Mammadyarov will play against Levon Aronyan tomorrow

The XIX chess tournament continues in Wijk Aan Zee in Holland. 6 rounds of traditional chess tournament which are being held with organization of "Corus" company have already been held.

14 strongest international grand masters participate in the tournament, APA reports. Five games of the round ended in a draw in the tournament in which we were represented by two times World ?hampion Shahriyar Mammadyarov.

Chess players with White piece have won in the two meets. Gata Kamsky (USA) gained the second point by wining leader Viswanathan Anand (India). Michael Adams (England) beat Vasili Ivanchuku (Ukraine) and reached to the group of leaders.

S.Mammadyarov’s rival was Boris Gelfand (Israel). Our grand master from Sumgait region whose all games ended in a draw gained half point again. In spite of playing with White, he was able to get rid of losing the game in the 35th move. After this stalemate, Mammadyarov with 3 points fell to 7th rank.

Vaselin Topalov (Bulgaria) and V.Anand are on the top of the tournament list with 4 points each. Our compatriot will play against Ukrainian Sergey Karyakin with Black next round and with White he will play against the latest holder of World Cup Armenian Levon Aronyan in the 8th round.
