Sale of Poultry Prohibited in Azerbaijan

According to Turan, Ismail Hasanov, chief of Azerbaijani State Veterinary Service, reminded that since August 2005 ban was imposed on sale and hunting of birds.

Hasanov said that he has met with Economic Advisor of U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan. It has been agreed that on January 16 samples of poultry died in Azeri Masally regions and 100 samples of blood will be sent for analysis to Cairo referent laboratory.

Local laboratories did not detect bird flue during tests, but we have decided to repeat analysis to be absolutely sure, said Hasanov.
