15 January 2006 [16:42] - TODAY.AZ
Trial of journalist Gajar Huseynov arrested in Georgia was adjourned until February 3.

The information was given to APA by his brother Niyazi Huseynov. In the trial a coded version of first part of secret report "Rendering harmless of active Azerbaijanis in Georgia" belonging to head of "Azerbaijan and Turkey" section of Georgian Counter-Intelligence Department Shalva Jgenti was submitted to Tbilisi Appeal Court by help of Georgian right defendant, chief of "Defense of Human Rights" international organization Ucha Naunuashvili. But the judge claiming the document has no stamp on it, refused to accept it as a legal document.

Georgian right defender Ucha Nanuashvili said that duplicate of the secret document will be submitted to the court on February 3 again after being stamped. Nanuashvili said no pressure has been exerted on him.

Niyazi Huseynov told APA that he plans to submit the documents to European Court: "I intend to return to Tbilisi and publish my newspaper again. We demand high ranking officials who of Counter-Intelligence Department are Armenians and Georgian by origin should be punished, our account in "Kartu-Bank" should be resorted. We object to illegal provision of 7 apartments belonging to Azerbaijanis near M.F.Akhundov museum in Tbilisi to official of Counter-Intelligence Department Garik Arutunyan. Apartments should be returned to Azerbaijanis". Besides, N.Huseynov said that he intends to start hunger-strike in front of embassy of Georgia in Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that Gajar Huseynov was editor-in-chief of "Yeni Dushunja" newspaper suspended in Georgia. The articles are the main reason of his arrest.
