Ecology Ministry studies impact of Gabala RLS on environment

“The Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry studies the impact of the Gabala Radio Location Station (RLS) on environment,” Husseyn Baghirov, the Ecology and Natural resources Minister, stated on Tuesday, Trend reports.

According to Baghirov, the Ministry has acquired appropriate devices made in Russia in this regard. “The devices do not enjoy our confidence, but we cannot purchase devices made in other countries due to their high price. Therefore, the work in this direction is delayed,” he added.

As to construction of nuclear power station in Azerbaijan, the Minister stressed that similar project never was touched upon. “The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) representatives cooperate with Azerbaijan in the implementation of the projects on expansion of control over the radioactive sources of the country,” Baghirov noted.
