"Araz" movie theater opens its gates for the Second Festival of Turkish Films

“Araz” movie theater hosted today opening ceremony of the Second Festival of Turkish Films, organized by the Embassy of Turkey in Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan.

The ceremony was started by Fethi Gedikli, Cultural Advisor of the Turkish Ambassador who briefly acquainted audience with a history of movie making in Turkey. He noted that the first Baku festival of Turkish films took place in 2001 and now after four years the festival is back.

Gedikli expressed his delight with the fact that this time to the Azeri audience will be presented ten Turkish films that were awarded at various cinematographic forums.

After Gedikli the word was taken by Jamil Farajov, Head of the Cinema Affairs Department of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan who expressed thankfulness to the Turkish Embassy for organizing the festival. Farajov also noted that such events are deepening understanding between our two countries.

After that the Festival was officially started and will continue its work till October 25. More detailed information is available at the movie theater’s ticket offices.
