Snow fell in northern regions

Unstable weather conditions have been observed throughout Azerbaijan from the October 16 afternoon, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources reported.

The lightning and rain have been observed in the capital city and other region of the country.

Snow fell in mountainous areas and highlands of Greater Caucasus. The snow depth reached 18mm in Khinalig, while in Gonagkand it reached 11cm.

The height of snow cover in  Giriz is 7mm, Susya, Ruk MM-6 cm, Laza-5mm, Nohurduzu-4cm, Khaltana-3 cm, Altiagaj-2cm, Saribash (Gakh)- 3 cm.

Currently, water richness holds 150-300% of decade norm in Quba-Khachmaz region rivers of Major Caucasus, 110-150% in Minor Caucasus rivers, 170-300% in Lankaran-Astara region rivers.

On October 17, 1cm fall in water level was issued in Giragkesemen settlement of Kura river. Currently water consumption holds 150m3/sec in the settlement, i.e 89% of decade norm. Some 13cm rise in water level has been observed in Ayrichay settlement of Qanikh River. At present, water consumption holds 124m3/sec, i.e 116% of decade norm.

The unstable weather is expected to continue till October 18.
