Regions welcome off-road racing

Azerbaijan’s picturesque regions, situated in the north-west of the country, welcomed off-road racing during the weekend.

The two-day show organized by Automobile Federation of Azerbaijan aimed to contribute to the development of motor sport and attract motorists from regions to this sport.

Some 25 automobiles traveled en route Gabala-Oguz-Sheki-Zagatala to promote motor sports in the country.

Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov, Emergency Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov, Automobile Federation Azerbaijan Anar Alakbarov met with off-road team’s members during the race.

Azerbaijan’s off-road team has participated in various competitions recently, including off-road competition in Turkish city of Trabzon, where the national drivers took the second and third places in different categories.

The first and only off-road club in Azerbaijan was established in 2010.

The “Offroad” club, composed of 13 national auto lovers joined the exciting international tour entitled “The world is ours”, promoting automobile tourism, in 2015.

Organization of long-distance travel, workshops on the improvement of driving skills, and just easy communication in the company of like-minded people - this is not a complete list of the tasks set by the club.
