Religious radicalism not inherent in Azerbaijani society

04 December 2015 [17:35] - TODAY.AZ

Religious radicalism and other negative factors aren’t inherent in Azerbaijani society, Fuad Alasgarov, head of department on work with law enforcement bodies at the presidential administration, told reporters Dec. 4.

He said the Azerbaijani youth should adhere to the ideas of a secular state.

“The country has adopted all the regulations to fight radicalism and extremism,” added Alasgarov.

Azerbaijan’s parliament has taken the initiative to improve those regulations, he noted.

“Azerbaijani youth, of course, will not be joining radical religious groups, and will fight against religious radicalism. We call on the young people, joining such groups, to get back to the right path,” said Alasgarov.
