Monitoring conducted in landslide-affected areas

The activation of landslide has been recently recorded in some places of Ismayilli region of Azerbaijan and the specialists were invited to the area.

First deputy head of Ismayilli regional executive power, chairman of the regional emergency commission Rafael Ahmadov told APA that the team led by the chief engineer of the Complex Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology Expedition of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry Shaig Niftiyev researched the landslide affected areas in Ismayilli region in the past three days: “Officials of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will also visit the region soon. They will examine 145 damaged houses in Ismayilli region”.

Ahmadov reminded that the specialists of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted joint monitoring in the abovementioned areas, passed a decision on resettlement of population from the area. According to him, the land plot was allocated to the residents to build new houses. Ahmadov said that local residents asked them to conduct double monitoring because of landslide activation there.

The landslide caused cracks in 25 places on Mughanli-Ismayilli-Gabala highway creating dangerous situation there, seriously damaging a part of the road.
