A draft Concept of the Georgia National Security has been discussed today at parliamentary committees. According to a new concept of national security, occupation of Georgian territory by Russia and the carrying out terrorist acts on these territories are the main risks of Georgia.
The document says that the main objective of Russia in August 2008 was not only occupation of the Georgia territory and the international recognition of the puppet regimes, but also changing Georgia's foreign policy or/and enforced changing of the democratically elected government, as far as democratic Georgia was considered by Russia's political elite as a significant threat.
A significant deterrent of potential threat from Russia became international support for Georgia, including the presence of the EU observation mission.
