Person who threw shoes to Iranian President detained

A person who threw his shoes to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was arrested, ISNA quoted Iran's Judiciary Spokesman Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei as saying. An unemployed person threw shoes at Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad while he was delivering a speech at a ceremony in the city of Sari, Mazandaran Province, on Monday, Mehr reported on Dec.12.

The man, identified as Rashid Sh., 45, who had been fired from a weaving factory, managed to get to the front row, started complaining about unemployment, and then threw his shoes at the president. However, the shoes did not hit President Ahmadinejad.
