Tehran seeks to establish Space Research Centre

Iran will establish a Space Research Centre in the Caspian province Mazandaran, the head of the Iranian Space Agency Hamid Fazel was quoted by the Iranian news agency IRNA as saying. He said that operations on this project are underway, but did not specify its purpose.

He said that Iran will launch three new satellites in the near future. " Navid, Fajr and Kavushgar-5 will be launched into orbit in February 2012 before the Day of Space Technologies," he said.
