Georgia gets observer status in African Union

At the AU Headquarters, Adis-Abeba, Georgian Ambassador to Egypt and Syria, (whose residence is in Cairo), Mr. Archil Dzuliashvili presented his credentials to the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Dr. Jean Ping last week

At the meeting, the two sides noted that granting of the status of Permanent Observer to Georgia will promote the establishment of partner relations between Africa and Georgia, especially, in the sphere of economy, the Georgian Foreign Ministry reported.  The Georgia Ambassador thanked the Chairperson of the AUC for receiving him and expressed his hope that the status of Permanent Observer will promote the further enhancement of mutually beneficial co-operation.
