Iranian police try to disperse rally participants from British Embassy

The police are trying to disperse the participants of the rally from the embassy, Fars news agency reported. The special police units arrived at the scene. Several students were detained.

Iranian students burst into the UK Embassy in Iran and throw everything outside the door. They tore down the UK Queen Elizabeth's picture.The protestors lowered the UK flag from the embassy and erected Iranian flag instead of it. According to the report, protestors condemned anti-Iran policy of the UK and the West countries.

The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office refused to provide any comment in this regard. Hundreds of Iranian university students started a rally in front of the British embassy in Tehran Tuesday afternoon to shout protest against London's hostile policies against Iran, FARS news agency reported.

Press TV has updated news on the situation near the UK Embassy in Iran. Live reports from the scene of incident showed that the police and authorities are at the scene and could restore the order to some extent. However, no serious clashes between the police and protesting students were reported. The police are not using force.

According to the live report, the majority of students are still near the embassy, merely trying to express their dissatisfaction with UK's policy towards the Iranian nation. They throw Molotov cocktails at the embassy building and as a result it caught fire.

It has also been reported, that UK's ambasador to Iran might leave the Tehran in about 2 weeks from now. Iranian officials have not yet made any statements on this incident at the embassy.
