
An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale jolted the Turkish city of Van last night, CNN Turk TV channel reported.According to preliminary data, no casualties and damage are reported as a result of the earthquake.
Previously a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 jolted the Van Province on Oct.23 killing more than 600 people. An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale with the epicentre in Edremit took place in the province of Van on Nov.9. The earthquake destroyed 25 buildings, including two hotels. As a result, 40 people died.
