Georgia says Russia to remove restrictions off Georgian products

22 November 2011 [19:33] - TODAY.AZ
Russia's membership to the World Trade Organization (WTO) means that the Russian side after certain time will be forced not only to remove restrictions off the Georgian products, but also to abolish now existing discriminatory measures against it, Georgian presidential spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze believes.

She said discriminatory norms set by Russia are often applied to the former Soviet Union countries. Despite this, at present, the Georgian side aims at mastering new markets, which are much more interesting for Georgian products.

As Manjgaladze stressed, the country's relevant authorities are already working on this matter.
"Focusing on new markets and quality of Georgian products, sent for export, are the main priority of our country. Opening of the Institute of Wine serves to this purpose," Manjgaladze said at a press briefing on Tuesday.
