Turkey to feel more need in investing in energy sector by 2023

Turkey's demand in investments in the energy sector will increase to $120-130 billion by 2023, Anadolu Agency quoted Taner Yildiz Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, on Tuesday.

According to Yildiz, work is underway to increase investment from the private sector by 2023.
"Turkey implements important international energy projects and the demand for investments will also increase," Yildiz added.

Turkey's energy sector report, published on the website of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources on Monday, indicated that Turkey's oil demand will grow to 59 million tons in 2020 compared to 40 million tons by the end of 2010.

Turkey's gas demand will rise to 59.3 billion cubic meters in 2020 compared to 42.6 billion cubic meters in 2010.

Energy consumption by all sectors of the Turkish economy will significantly increase in 2020. Particularly, in the production area, consumption will increase to 78.732 million tons of oil equivalent in 2020 from 43.585 million tons of oil equivalent by the end of 2010.
