Snowfall has complicated travel on public highways of Georgia

By Tuesday morning nearly all the roads of Georgia restored the movement of vehicles, the department of highways in Georgia said.

On the eve, the fallen snow complicated the movement on all roads of Georgia, especially in eastern Georgia. In some areas, due to an unusually early and heavy snowfall has been paralyzed or restricted movement on some highways. At the edges of the Shida Kartli and Mtskheta-Tianeti snow cover reached 35-50 cm, this resulted in complete or partial cessation of movement on several local roads.

Road services staff have been working all night to clear roads of snow rubble.

Heavy snow hampered movement on Rikoti Pass, where the central highway connects Western and Eastern Georgia. Heavy snow fell in the outskirts of Tbilisi.

There are currently prohibited from moving on the pass Goderdzi in Adjara, where snow cover is higher than one meter. There are 4 cars stucked in the snow, but passengers were evacuated.
