More civilized nations have greater responsibilities: Iranian President

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that under the current circumstances, those nations who have ancient civilization and culture are surely in charge of a greater responsibility in comparison to other nations, IRNA reported.

President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a meeting with a group of Egyptian elite women and referring to the Islamic awakening around the world while calling it a historical opportunity for salvation of the mankind.

"Today the colonial powers are facing a deadlock and their true face has been unveiled for the entire human race. It is a good opportunity for the nations to step toward establishing justice and throughout the world," he added.

Noting that the big powers are worried about the progress made by the independent and freedom-seeking countries like Iran and Egypt, President Ahmadinejad said that it is because they consider their progress as opposite to what they propagate in different mass media.

Referring to the status of the Middle Eastern countries, he noted that if all Middle Eastern countries join hands they can take control of the world's main political and economic centers so that to have access to all potentials and facilities of the issue.

Referring to Iran-Egypt relations, the president said that Iran and Egypt have cultural, historical and ideological bonds in such a way that makes both countries to get close to each other.

"Iranian nation become happy with progress of Egyptians, because they consider the victory of Egyptians as their own victory," President Ahmadinejad added.
