Two firings in Iranian oil sector leave one dead, three injured

The drilling rig No. 54 on the Bibi Hakimeh oil field, southwest of Iran, caught fire in early Friday. The fire left one dead and three injured, Mehr news agency reported.

The reason of the incident is unknown.

Bibi Hakimeh oil field is one of the biggest oil fields in Iran, consisting of more than 145 oil producing wells located near Persian Gulf.

In another incident, the Shazand oil refinery in the Iranian city of Arak caught fire, leaving no injury or death.

The Shazand oil refinery was officially inaugurated in February 2010 with $3.3 billion investment.
