Georgian-Turkish joint projects considered

The head of the Adjaran Government, Levan Varshalomidze, held a meeting with the Turkish State Minister Hayati Yazici, who is currently visiting Batumi.

The meeting discussed the Georgian-Turkish joint projects, including the simplification of freight customs procedures through the Sarpi checkpoint, an Adjaran government spokesman told Trend.

Both sides voiced the hope that the two countries will soon apply a visa free regime. Currently a Georgian may stay in Turkey without a visa for 90 days. The new move would assist with the development of economic relations and tourism in both countries.

Mr. Yazici is taking takes part in the conference 'Role of Customs Administration in promoting and encouraging the countries of the Great Silk Road.'
