28 October 2011 [13:30] - TODAY.AZ
Cold storage "American monolith", designed to store 10, 000 tons of products, will be today opened in Georgia's port city of Poti.

According to the Poti Mayor Vakhtang Lemonjava, the cold storage will store the products exported to the countries of the Central Asia and Transcaucasia.

Some $12 million has been invested in the project and about 150 jobs have been created.

Lemonjava said another two cold storages operate in Poti, but they are at least 20 percent smaller than the new one.

Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri said at a government meeting on Wednesday that the country intends to become a peculiar hub for the region's countries.

"Export of cars can serve as an example. Many distributors opened their offices in Georgia and make supply of cars to other countries of the South Caucasus and Asia. We should also become such a hub for other products for the entire region," he said.
