US state secretary welcomes Turkey's presence in Afghanistan & Pakistan

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Thursday that Turkey had a great ability to communicate with the leaders of Pakistan, Afghanistan and other regional countries, AA reported.

Therefore, Turkey's presence in the region is a very helpful assistance to the U.S., she said in a committee meeting at U.S. House of Representatives.

Clinton noted that Turkey had a great deal of credibility with a number of the countries, and therefore its involvement was a very helpful assistance to U.S.

She recalled that Turkish troops undertook mission in International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) under NATO in Afghanistan.

Clinton will arrive in Istanbul, Turkey on November 2 to attend Istanbul Conference for Afghanistan: Security and Cooperation in the Heart of Asia which will be hosted by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
