Georgian president: Business a priority in country's development

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili called the business as a top priority of the country's development and businessmen participating in the meeting as bread-winners of the economy and people at the governmental meeting in Batumi yesterday.

"Their presence at the enlarged governmental meeting means that the principal partners - business representatives are breadwinners of not only economy but also each of us because you really paying taxes," Saakashvili said.

The President said that 1,200 square meters of housing is being built in Batumi yesterday.

"The population of Batumi is 160,000 people today," he said. "There are proper economic and administrative measures. The construction is carried out mainly by local builders."
