Inmates in a prison in the Turkish city of Van revolted Tuesday, protesting being detained in their cells despite a 5.4-magnitude aftershock, reported Turkish media.
The inmates started a fire and attacked guards with knives and scissors. Several guards were wounded and extra security was called to the prison, DPA reported.
About 200 prisoners escaped the facility Sunday after the region was rocked by a 7.2-magnitude earthquake.
