Baby rescued from Turkish earthquake rubble

25 October 2011 [19:30] - TODAY.AZ
Turkish rescue teams found a newborn baby among the rubble of a collapsed house in south-eastern Turkey on Tuesday, 47 hours after the region was devastated by an earthquake, DPA reported.

The baby, who was just a few days old, was taken to a makeshift hospital ward in the city of Ercis.

"It is healthy and will live," the doctor treating the baby told dpa. The infant was able to move its arms and legs, he added. Little was known about the fate of the baby's parents.
