Earthquake survivor rescued after calling for help on mobile

A 19-year-old who was trapped in the rubble of a building when an earthquake hit Turkey at the weekend was rescued after calling for help on his mobile, Turkish media reported Monday.

The teenager suffered leg injuries after becoming trapped in the rubble of the six-storey building in the city of Ercis, which was worst hit by Sunday's 7.2 magnitude earthquake, DPA reported.

Every third house in the city was damaged in the quake, according to Turkish media.
