Population and property census begins in Iran

Population and property census has started today in Iran, Head of Iran's Statistics Centre Adil Azer said, IRIB News reported.

Azer noted that 54 thousands interviewers will be involved in the census survey. According to the Iranian law on population census, the census is conducted once in 5 years.

The 1956 census counted 19 million people while in 2006 this figure reached 70.4 mln people, and in 2011 the population increased up to 75.5 mln people.
