U.S. ambassador opens new economic project in Georgia

The U.S. Ambassador to Georgia John Bass opened a new economic project on Friday in the Kvesheti village of Georgia's Dusheti district.

The project through the U.S. Agency for International Development has been funded by the U.S. government. Its cost is $20.5 million and duration - four years. The project will be carried out in ten villages of Dusheti district.

"For us it is important to help you identify the problems that exist in your district, and then help solve them," said Bass.

The ambassador said he was in Dusheti district not for the first time. "I previously visited here. You have a great atmosphere and we want you to help your in that your children would stay here and would not stay before a choice - to move to Tbilisi, Kutaisi or somewhere else in order to arrange their future," he said at a meeting with local population.
